The Ruby story

The warmth of good company and great food
When Emma Ruby and Wilfred Schlegel were united in marriage, they created more than a family – they shaped communities.
In his capacity as a pastor Wilfred would often welcome neighbours into his home seeking counsel and commiseration. Emma, always the gracious hostess with a penchant for honest, home-cooked meals, knew to prepare for guests at all times.
The sense of community and comfort created in Emma’s kitchen and around her dining table is the essence of the unique restaurants that carry her maiden name upon the Top Floors of three Schlegel Villages.

What Diners Say
“My brother recently moved into the Village of Erin Meadows, and decided to host a meal for the family and friends who helped with the move. Set on the top floor of the building, the view is a nice one, looking south towards the lake. The tables are far enough apart that it is easy to move around, and conversation is easy and pleasant. There is a relatively small selection of dishes and wines, but what they had was all very well prepared, nicely presented, and really tasty. The most surprising aspect of the evening was the price point: particularly for the quality of the food (not to mention the great service) and the surroundings, the cost was surprisingly low. In short, I would really recommend the restaurant for family and/or friend gatherings at the Village.“
